The Good, the Bad and the Ugly of MMA

In the world of mixed martial arts, there is the good, the bad and the ugly. Many times, the bad and the ugly are what captivates audiences the most. A bad cut to the eye often brings fans to their feet and the ugly way a fighter’s eyes rolls into the back of his head usually evokes shouts of exultation from the crowd.

People pay decent money to watch the good, the bad and the ugly that come with the sport, and many times they enjoy the latter of the three much, much more. But how much bad and ugly should be allowed for the good of the sport?

Dr. Johnny Benjamin offers his input to FightTicker.com regarding the good, the bad and the ugly that have come with the recent rule changes recently introduced by The Association of Boxing Commissions. Like most doctors, Benjamin examines the sport from a medical perspective. However, mma spectators do not watch the sport with the same mindset. Benjamin goes on to identify some of the hazardous aspects of the sport and how some can be remedied.
