Affliction locks up multi-fight deal with Edwin Dewees
The clothing company that is now putting on MMA events has added another fighter to their arsenal, at least for a little while. Edwin “Babyface” Dewees has reportedly signed a multi-fight deal with Afflicition according to mmajunkie.com. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it is a safe bet that Dewees will show his babyface at Affliction’s follow-up event following its July 19th debut.
Dewees is scheduled to take on Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (13-3) at Affliction: Banned which will air on pay-per-view in a little more than a week. Dewees is no stranger to the cage as he brings in a professional record of 35-12 with two of those fights coming in the UFC. However, Dewees wound up on the losing end of each UFC bout and was also part of the cast on The Ultimate Fighter 4.
The Babyface scored a victory in his last fight with a first round submission over little known Richard Blake this past April. But that win came after four consecutive losses. Dewees’ signing doesn’t exactly provide Affliction with one of the more dominant fighters in the world of mixed martial arts. Nevertheless, the organization is preparing for the future.
