Heavyweight Belt makes its debut

It took a while, but the creation of a new belt has finally come to pass. The World Alliance of Mixed Martial Arts Heavyweight Championship title belt has been completed and will be bequeathed to the winner of the Fedor Emelianenko vs. Tim Sylvia during Affliction’s Banned which will take place on July 19th.

When all was said and done, the championship belt took 150 hours to produce. The belt includes an array of copper, gold, diamonds, leather and fur. Fur? That may be quite a new twist added to a title belt. Perhaps Affliction may go out and trap a few minx for their other championships in an effort to follow up this ornate belt. But regardless of how much ornamentation went into the belt, it won’t suffice if the Fedor-Sylvia bout is not as impressive.

The time put in to making such a belt really dims in comparison to the amount of time, blood, sweat and tears each fighter puts into his training. However, for the amount of time, blood, sweat and tears each fighter puts in, it may be only fitting to have them wear such a lavish belt. WAMMA offers a closer look at the belt on its website.
